Built on the site of an original homestead orchard, Big Canyon Acres was lovingly brought back to life by Susan and Ron Jacobson starting in 2018. Now an event venue in addition to an orchard, the farm maintains its historical roots with heritage apple varieties dating back to the 19th century. A family-run operation, the farm grows several varieties of fruits and nuts, which are sold and also processed into juices and other treats.
The event venue hosts many weddings throughout the year, offering eight unique outdoor settings and one large indoor timber-frame barn that accommodate 300 people. Outdoor events can accommodate up to 1000. Big Canyon Acres also offers farm-to-table meals, special concerts and other pop-up family events.
Visit on Memorial Day weekend for the Idaho Fest of the West, celebrating western heritage. In October, look for the Big Canyon Acres Fall Festival, featuring fall favorites like fresh pressed apple cider, a pumpkin patch and local artisans. Camp or stay in Airbnb accommodations onsite.
